Mindfulness has become very important in our therapy options. In this technique we accept a worrying thought but we don't dwell on it or get caught up in the emotions it evokes. In other words, it's as if we're watching our thoughts from above–like they're marshmallows going along a conveyor belt in a production line. Our worrying thought is just one more marshmallow, not bigger or more important than the others. As such, it certainly won't be given permission to be so important that it shuts down the conveyor belt and blocks up the system.
